The competitive grant application was successful and we received the <br /> full amount requested which is$35,000.00. The purpose of the grant is to complete a market study and draft <br /> design standards/zoning code changes to encourage desirable high quality,higher density housing in areas <br /> adjacent to Everett's downtown. These areas are the Rucker Grand,North.Downtown, and <br /> Neighborhorhood Infill generally shown on the attached map. This is part of the implementation of the <br /> Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2005. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign a contract with the State of Washington for studies including a market study <br /> and zoning standards to encourage housing in areas adjacent to the downtown <br />
