The <br /> Citation described the violations and the corrective action that needed to be taken, gave a date by which <br /> corrective action was required, and set a hearing date for appealing the notice to the City's violations <br /> Hearing Examiner. The owner did not correct the violations. The Hearing Examiner authorized the City to <br /> execute the required abatements by private contract. The City incurred costs in performing said abatements, <br /> which were billed to the owner and a lien was recorded as per Resolution#5638. In an October 24, 2005 <br /> memo from the Community Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that the property was not being maintained; <br /> and provided the City authorization to abate the property for maintenance purposes under the authority of the <br /> March 31, 2005 order and April 4, 2005 authorization for the City to enter the property and abate the <br /> nuisances. The City incurred costs in performing maintenance of said abatements, which were billed to the <br /> owner and are over 30 days past due. This resolution authorizes placement of a second assessment lien on <br /> the property in the amount of the outstanding costs of abatement, which total $1,885.30. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt a Resolution confirming expenses incurred by the City of Everett while performing abatements of <br /> violations, and authorizing placement of a lien in the amount of$1885.30 against the property known as <br /> 3310 Rucker Avenue in the city of Everett, Washington. <br /> 7 <br />
