/:/%ca- RESOLUTION NO. 5003 A RESOLUTION providing for the closure of Hewitt Avenue, California Street and partial closure of Bond Street where these streets intersect the BNSF Bayside Line in conjunction with the California Street Overcrossing Project WHEREAS, in conjunction with the extension of Everett Avenue over BNSF tracks to Terminal Avenue (California Street Overcrossing project), California Street and Hewitt Avenue will be totally closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic and Bond Street will be partially closed where these streets intersect the BNSF Bayside Line; and WHEREAS, the closure of Hewitt Avenue and California Street at the above described locations will result in these streets being closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic at these locations; and WHEREAS, the closure of Bond Street at the above-described location will be restricted to vehicular traffic thereby permitting continued access to pedestrians, bicyclists and similar non-motorized forms of transportation and to serve as a secondary access for emergency vehicles; WHEREAS, in conjunction with the above described street closures, the proposed new overcrossing will provide direct access to Kimberly Clark and the Port of Everett's South Terminal which are currently served by three at-grade crossings; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT THAT: In conjunction with the California Street Overcrossing project, the City Council hereby authorizes: (1) the closure of Hewitt Avenue and California Street where they intersect the BNSF Bayside Line to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic; and (2) the closure of Bond Street where it intersects the BNSF Bayside Line to all traffic except pedestrians, bicyclists and similar non-motorized forms of transportation and secondary emergency vehicle access.
