Project Agreement
Amount Budgeted
Expenditure Required Account Number(s):
Budget Remaining
Additional Required
DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT:
By its action on April 23, 2003, the City of Everett City Council authorized the Mayor to accept Sound
Transit's funding assistance as part of the agreement that would enable Everett Transit to resume its
participation in the Smart Card project. Everett Transit did not recommend executing this agreement sooner
because of ET's commitment to use its own designated grant dollars and the requisite local match before
accessing Sound Transit's contribution. ET's commitment to use designated grants has been fulfilled and.the
parties wish to execute this agreement so the flow of funding will not be interrupted.
The maximum reimbursement from Sound Transit for Smart Card related activities is $792,435. The funds
may be used for capital and implementation expenses and for the first two years of operations and
maintenance of the system after full implementation (Summer 2008).
The agreement will expire on December 31, 2008; or as otherwise extended or terminated by the mutual
consent of both parties.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign the agreement between the City of Everett and
Sound Transit for Funding Assistance for the Regional Fare Coordination Project.
4
