After talking to Mr. Zlab and viewing the details of the <br /> project it is clear to us that these are the types of projects that should be encouraged by <br /> the City of Everett. <br /> Currently condominiums are a major source of affordable housing in Snohomish County. <br /> Having well constructed, affordable condominiums in the heart of downtown Everett is a <br /> responsible way to provide for affordable housing- especially when the developer is as <br /> willing to comply with historic guidelines as Mr. Zlab appears to be. <br /> Adding density to a neighborhood is almost never easy. Unfortunately as you well know <br /> that is the only responsible way to grow with the constraints of the Growth Management <br /> Act.Placing these condominiums in R-4 and R-5 zoning seems to be an appropriate use <br /> of that zoning.
