This server will significantly enhance the City's disaster
recovery capabilities by allowing IT to replicate critical data off-site. This is an important part of the plan to
shorten therecovery time needed to rebuild priority data systems after a major loss to our production data
center.
Bids were sent to 6 vendors, advertised in the Herald and posted on the State of Washington and City web
sites. Bids were received as outlined in the attached bid summary. The apparent low bidder, System
Technology Associates, has withdrawn their bid because their agreement with the manufacturer will not
allow them to sell these items in Washington. Staff is recommending award to the next lowest bidder,
Integrated Archive Systems, in the amount of$152,023.81.
RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Award Bid 2006-826 for a Network
Appliance FAS3020 Filer and Associated Software to Integrated Archive Systems, in the amount of
$152,023.81 including Washington State Sales Tax.
•
5
