The tenants of the house situated on the property have requested an inspecdon of the leaking roof. During an inspecdon on September 20, 1994 it was noteci that the roof was deteriorated, rotted and needed replacmg. An inspection of the house today revealed that the roof has not been repaired and rain water is lealdng into the house. It is obvious that insulation placed in the att�c is saturated with water. Placement of a tarp over the roof will only compound the problem. The roof needs repairing no later than Dec. 5, 1994 and replacing within the next six months. Enclosed is a copy of the September 20, 1994 Inspection Report. These condidons may be sufficient to declare the house to be substandard pursuant to the Uniform Housing Code. The violations noted on the inspection report require permits and inspecdons. On December 5, 1994, an.inspection of the work progress will be conducted. Failure to make the necessary repairs will result in the City talang fiirther abatement action.
