^ E-1201-1
Voth Brothers Construction, Inc. pyge 3
October 20, 1980
P
Logs of the borings are presented on Plates 3 through 6. The
final logs represent our interpretation of the field logs and
the results of the laboratory examination and tests of field
" samples.
In each boring, Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) were per-
formed at selected intervals in accordance with ASTM Test Desig-
nation D-1586.
^ Representative soil samples were placed in closed contain-
ers and returned to our laboratory for further examination and
• testing. Visual classifications were supplemented by index
tests such as sieve analyses on representative samples. Mois-
tre determinations were performed on all samples. Results of
moisture determinations, together with classifications, are
shown on the boring logs included in this report. The results
of four sieve analyses are illustrated on Plate 7.
  SITE CONDITIONS
The site is approximately 755 by 205 feet in plan dimen-
i sions, and has an area of about 3.5 acres. The site is located
west of Interstate Highway 5, at the southeast corner of the
" intersection of Pacific AvAnue and Pine Street in Everett, Wash-
 ington.
1+ The site covers nearly two city blocks. At the time of our
study, there were six houses on the site in varying stages of
• ' demolition. Some structures had been completely demolished
,,, prior to our field work. In areas where no structures were pres-
ent, the site is covered with grass, trees and brush. No full
basements were observed in the existing houses. The southern-
most house had a partial basement, as did the house immediately
'' north of 32nd Street.
The site is relatively flat, sloping gently towards the
— east. No running water was observed at the time of our study.
" The alignment of 32nd Street extends approximately halfway
into the site from Pine Street. The street ends at a north -
south alleyway which eatends nearly the full length of torti ns
A sewer interceptor extends from Pine Street along the p
of 32nd Street and the alleyway on the site. Considering the
` prior existence of several structures on the site it is likely
several buried utilities are present beneath the ground surface,
including water, sewer and gas.
r Farth Consultantt, Inc.
 _i
