Jim Cleary, Dist 1 Traffic Engineer, Bill Carter, Dist. 1 Signal Engineer, and I earlier discussed the signal at Pacific/Maple. The signal planned/ considered at Pacific/Cedar will not serve hotel ped traffic nor provide gaps needed for hotel vehicle traffic. The Maple signal is lostate si�nal and will provide gaps in the increased traffic. The existing 9 does not have ped heads nor capability to install them. It was a 1965 "temporary scheduled for 1983-85 rebuild but obligation controls push the . 1983 rebuild to late BOs. WSDOT will turn it over to City for improvements. The Maple/intersection needs signal rebuild to provide for ped traffic and increased traffic of 200 room hotel with convention facilities.
