The Uniform Building Code provides that all permits expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by permit is not commenced within 180 days from the date such permit is issued, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days. As the permit holder, it is your responsibility to call for all required inspections while work is in progress :.nd to call for final inspection when the work is completed and prior to occupancy. As your permit has already expired, the Code requires that a new permit must be obtained and additional fees.paid before you can resume work or call for final inspection. However, the City of Everett is at this time extending a one-time grace period to holders of recently expired permits. If you wish to recommence work you may renew your permit at, no cost for an additional 180 day period by submitting a written request to this office. The renewal request must reach us by April 30,1989. If the work has been completed, you may call for final inspection before April 30th.
