CITY OF EVERETf. EVERElT WASMINGTON Councilm¢in Pope had received a complaint on this property regarding a junk yard behind the house that sets just off the alley. An inspection uf the area revealed the carport filled with what appeared to be scrap metal and other discarded articles. The appearance was a junk yard operation. In January on another inspection in the area I went past this house and saw someone sitting on the steps sharpening a knife. I approached him to see if he was the owna�r or a rent:er. Just then another individual stepped outside the door. I asked if he �Nas the owner or renter and he indicated that the renter was not there but wauld be returning shortly. I gave him my card and asked to have the main renter call me. When the two individuals asked what I was there for, I indicated that the scrap metal and other rubbie' in the carport was in violation of city ordinances. They said they were not law abiding citizens and the scrap metal and other items would stay. I asked to have the gentleman, upon his return, give me a call. He never did. On January 21st I sent a letter to the owner of the property. The letter was sent certified mail but the return receipt has not come back yet. The next door neighbor continues to call about this situation. I haven't been able to get pictures of this situation as yet. The sun has been wrong or tl�e weather bad. I'll get pictures as soon as possible. What I'm looking for now is direction from you in this matter. •
