Mechanical spot exhaust ventilatton, ducted to the extertor, is <br />requlred 1n all bathrooms (50 tfm) and kitchens (100 tfm). Backdraft <br />dampers are required. <br />2 Outside air 1s required to be suppited into the conditloned space. <br />See ventilation requirements. <br />3. Water heater storage tank labeled as meeting ASHRAE standard 90A - <br />1980 or insulated to R-16. <br />5. Recessed lights are I.C. rated, do�ble wall can lights. <br />14. 6 m11 black visqueen ground cover in crawl space. <br />Air Sealing: <br />1. All plumbing, electrical and HVAC penetrations in floors, wall and <br />cetlings are caulked and sealed. <br />2. Where penetratfons need a firestop, discuss with your building <br />department. <br />3. Electrtcal outlet and light switch boxes on exterior walls must be <br />sealed at the back of the receptical or sealed with face plate gaskets. <br />4. Seal rtm joist between heated floor or use a product like "tyvek" on <br />eKtertor. <br />continued next page <br />
