Waciiington 98201
Attn Lee Devie Re: 1010 Oakes - Electrical Insp.
Dear Mr. Davis:
I made the electrical inspection that I was requested to malce at
1010 Oakes to determine tlie wiring condition of tlie building The
original knot and tube wiring though inadequate appears to still
Ue ok. Ptuch of the ndditi.onal wiring has been bootlegged in and is
in violation of the code. Thcre is some wiring in tle basement
that is liazardous to the point a fire cnn result at any time and
must be corrected. ^'he following requirements are needed to meet
PI1A Standards: ltao additionil outlets are needed in the kithcen
area, put on a utility circuit, All existing outlets must be grounded
and not on a general lighting circuit. Tle fixture in the batlroom
must be grounded along witli laveing a grounded receptncle beside the
basin. 'lo additional oulets are needed in the living room. One
additical outlet needed in each upstairs Uedroom. Automatic washer
must be grounded receptacle on a separate circuit. The service is
not a 60 amp rating and several small panels illegally wired in
addition. All of these must te removed and all installed in a 100 amp •
on larger panel. There are several places where new wiring has been
added that must be correctly in:;talled. We will be willing tu give
a reasonable time for corrections to be made before requesting •:he
P.U.D, to disconnect the service to avoid a loss by fire.
Yours truly
L J.
