Mr. Graff was absent.
The reading of the minutes of the August 3, 1970 hearing were
read and approved as read.
A continution on the application of DSr. Ken Carpenter, 6427
Beverly Lane, requesting permission to erect and maintain an
amateur radio tower to a maximum height of ninety (90) feet
above ground elevation which is hi.gher than the thirty-five
(35) feet maximum permitted in an R-2 Single Family High Denity
Residence Zone, on Lot 45 , Beverly Hills , Division No. 6
(6427 Beverly Lane , verett, V7ashington) .
After hearing testimony by both the opponents and proponents
the followincj findings were made by the Board of Adjustment:
1. Although testimony was offered that a ninety (90) foot
i antenna height caas desired by the apolicant, no evidence
has offered that such a height caas necessary for caorld-
wide Ham radio operation. '
2. In the opinion of the neighbors , permission to grant
the requested variance would have an adverse effect
on the neighborhood. This is displayed by a petition
containing the names of thirty-five ( 35) residents '
protesting a granting of the proposed variance.
;
3. The Board, after visiting the site , noted the single
family characteristics of the neighborhood and the '.
absence of nearby similar objects or even large trees
that an antenna could be blended into.
A notion was thereby made by Mr. Dickson, seconded by b1r. Ingram
and unanimously carried, to deny the aoplication on the basis
that:
1. The proposed antenna cvould be incompatible in the neigh-
borhood.

2. No hardship was indicated by the applicant. ,
I
A hearing was held on the application of Bonnie N. Peterson, .
1731 Oakes , for a variance from Section 15 .04 .090 , E.C.C.
