CITY OF EVERETT <br /> SPECIAL PROPBRTY USfi PBRMIT �4-88 <br /> INTERIOR MODIFICATION OF NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY <br /> 2730 OAKES AVENUE <br /> xay 27, 1988 <br /> WHEREAS, there vas filed aith the City of Everett Planning Depar[ment <br /> on March 1, 1988, an application for a Special Property Use Permit, under <br /> Everett Municipal Code �E.M.C. 19.58.010) by Col. Harry L. Mayfield, Jr. , <br /> Facilitiea Engineer, Washington Military Department, Camp Murray, <br /> Tacoma, WA 98430-5000; described as follows: <br /> A permit to allow tlie interior modification of a 28,000 aquare foot <br /> portion of an exieting Washington National Guard Building, for <br /> temporary use by the i1.S. Navy Carrier Battle Group for recreational <br /> purposea. <br /> WHEREAS, after proper notice was given as required by law, a public <br /> hearing was held on april 28, 1988, before the City of Everett Land Use <br /> Hearing Examiner; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due consideration ef the evidence elicited during the <br /> public hearing, the Everet[ Land Use Hearing Examiner made findings of fact <br /> and conditiona and rendered a decision on May 12, 1988, [o grant the Special <br /> Proper[y Uae Permit with the following conditione: <br /> 1. The Applicant must comply with all the conditions set forth in <br /> this pzoject's Determination of Non-Significance document <br /> SEPA *4-88. <br /> 2. All of [he parking stalls in the alley and at the veat end of <br /> the propez[y on California and Rockefeller Avenues must be <br /> maintained for current usea by the employeea of Che Everett <br /> Armory. <br /> 3. Due to the housing of sophiaticated weapons a[ the Everett <br /> Armory, utmost security measures must be implemented, and that <br /> aection of the building must be restricted from all ' <br /> unauthorized personnel and from the recrea[ional areas. This <br /> area muat be secured and pos[ed prior to any occupancy of the <br /> building. <br /> 4. The Navy Carrier Battle Group is encouraged to carry out the <br /> interior modification of the Everett Armory in a manner that <br /> vill also enhance a�d preserve the exterior architeccural <br /> character of the building without significan[ physical or <br /> structural altera[i��e . <br /> AND BE IT FINALLY ORDERED [hat a copy of this written order be <br /> transmitted to the Applicant Eor their information. <br /> Date: May 27 1988 �y�� /JI / <br /> � "`"'�ift� l���rt,cco ^.
