We zecosssaded
that foundations extend through any loose surficial or fill soils for bearing
support. Therefore the potential influence of liquefaction en structures due
to these soil types is low. The same reasoning may be applied to the
attenuation of ground -.=Lion.
Erosion Hazard
Although this type of hazard is not specifically referred to in the new
ordinance, we cuarnnly conduct our evaluation to include erosion hazards.
The arosion hazard criteria used for determissation of affected areas include
soil type, slope gradient, vegetation cover and ground rater conditions, the
ercaica sensitivity is related to vegetative cover and the specific surface
soils types (group classification), which are related to the underlying
geologic soil/rock units. The following table is outlines erosion hazard for
the on site soils that have been stripped of vegetation, the surface soils
found within the site have been classified in accordance with the Soil
Conservation Service (SCS) classification system and have been grouped with
respect to the corresponding geologic unit.
Oeologlo 0nit Surface Soil Sensitivity At Slope 0-151 16-391 >40%
g(olaclal Till) Aldorwood Low Mod High
y FM) Ritsap Loa Mud High
Landslide Hazard (Unstable Soils Hazards Areas)
An evaluation of landslide hazard was performod for this site. This
evaluation includes soil type, underlying stratigraphy, slope gradient# grand
water condition and vegetation over. Using these criteria, it is our
opinion that the site slopes era relatively stable with oo apparent sigma of
sliding or slu rr&-g grand condition.
Since the steeper portion of the slope areas ware faced to ba underlain
primarily by dense glacial till and stiff to hard Mddbey Formation deposits,
