AVEPARMFE/YT OF CODE =MPL/ANCE
D
May 25, 1999
Y OF E`IERETT
Mr. Ross Winde HAND DELIVERED
Mrs. Harriet H. Winde
2107 Rucker Avenue
Everett, WA 98201
Re: 314 Olympic Boulevard
Case number: 946H-98
Dear Mr. Winde and Mrs. Winde:
You have been notified that over a year ago the Everett City Council passed a resolution
regarding your property located at 314 Olympic Boulevard. Because the building on
your property was substandard, dangerous and a public nuisance, and had neither been
repaired nor demolished as required by the Notice and Order of the Building Official, the
Council granted authority to the Building Official to have the building demolished and
cleared from the premises.
On May 11, 19991 sent you a letter stating that the City would be proceeding with the
hiring of a contractor to demolish the building and clear the premises.
On Friday, May 14, 1999 we met at my office, at which time I advised you that 1 need a
contract in hand by Wednesday, May 26, 1999 that details the repairs you plan to do at
the house and sets forth the dates by which the repairs will be done. On Monday, May
24, 19991 received a telephone call from a contractor who told me that he has been hired
by you to complete the repairs. This contractor, Jim Roeter, said that he can have
someone there to start the siding by Friday, May 28, 1999, and that the siding can be
completed no later than June 4, 1999. He agreed that the glass in the garage window
could be replaced by June 4, 1999, and that the painting of the exterior of the house and
garage could be completed by June 15, 1999. He then stated that he thought the interior
of the house could be finished by August 31, 1999.
Yesterday afternoon we met again and I reiterated the necessity of having a written
contract for repairs in hand this week. Since I am going to be out of the office most of
Wednesday, I have given you until Thursday, May 27, 1999 to present me with a contract
or contracts for repair of the building. I will have an agreement prepared for signature on
CITY OF EVERETT • 2930 Wetmore Ave- 9th Floor 9 Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-_c80 0 Fax (425) 257-8651
