The pmje:t sitc is bounded by Rucker Avenue <br /> on thc cast, Pacific Avcnuc on thc south, Grand Avcnuc on thc wcst, and thc cxisting Snohomish Hcalth <br /> District Building and surfacc parking on the north. A vicinity map showing the project location is <br /> providcd as Figurc 1. <br /> Thc 1'otala Village site is currcntly developcd and contains asphalt paved parking lots cn the west, a <br /> ccntral allcy, and a onc-story timbcr building(Good Guys Car Storc)on the southcast portion of thc sitc. <br /> A concrctc parking lot is situatcd betwcen thc timber building and the adjacent Snohomish Health District <br /> Building located along thc northcast boundary. <br /> 7'hc proposed strucwrc will include a total of five storics constructed above existing sitc grade with onc <br /> level of bclow-gradc parking. The firs� tloor will include rctail spa�c bordcring thc Pacific Avenue and <br /> Ruckcr Avcnuc sidcs of thc building with a parking arca bchind thc rctail spacc to thc north and wcsL Wc <br /> undcrstand thc 2"" 11oor will conlain approximatcly 30,000 squarc fcet o(officc spacc, and thc top thrcc <br /> tloors will contain apartments. <br /> 13clow-gradc parking will cxtcnd across thc:.i�c for a total squarc footagc of about 32,000 squam fcct. lt <br /> has bccn our cxpericncc Ihat thc cxca��ation dcpth rcquircd for onc Icvcl of bclow-gradc parking is on the <br /> ordcr of 12 fect. Temporary shoring will bc rcquired around thc perimcter of the site. Poundations arc anticipa�ed�o consist of shallow sprcad footings. <br /> The purposc of our services is lo provide geotechnic�l cngincering conclusions and recommendations for <br /> design and conswction of the project. Our scrvices indudcd revicw of available subsurface infortnation, <br /> drilling ten hollow•stem auger borings, and complcting laboralory testing on samplcs obtained from thc <br /> borings,and cnginecrin�analyses and prcparation of a dcsign gcotechnical cnginecring report. <br /> GEOLOGY <br /> Our rcvicw of thc USGS gcologic map, Gcologic Map oC thc ti��crctt Quadranglc, Snohomish County, <br /> \Uashington by Jamcs I'. Minard iudicatcs that surficial soils at the sitc consist primarily of glacial till <br /> ovcrlping advance outwash and older dcposits of the Whidbcy Pomiation. Glacial till typically consists oC <br /> a hctcrogcncous mixturc of sand, gravel, cobblcs and occasional bouldcrs in a silt and clay matr.x that <br /> �+as dcpositcd bcncath a glacicr. Thc ad��ancc outwnsh consists of mostly gray, wcll-stratified sand with <br /> ��ariablc amoums of silt,pebbles, and cobbles. The advancc outwash sand is usually cxposcd wherc the <br /> o��crlying glacial lill cap has bccn eroded away, t}�ically in ravines and bluff margins.
