Please provide complete construction documents detailing tfie duct shaft endosure. Please be advised that to obtain a minimum of 6 inches of clearance, a"noncornbustible surface" must be backed by noncombustible framing. The shaft, including tfie grease deanout doors, must have a fire-resistance rating of 1 hour in accordance with [BC 708 and IMC 506.3.11. Include dimensioning to show tfie relationship between the shaft and existing building elements. 2. The material listed as 54 shown on tfie cook line elevation is required to extend 18 inches in all directions from the hood opening. As shown, it does not extend 18"upward from d►e opening, IMC 507.9. 3. The plans should indude the requirement for a grease duct leakage test in accordance witli IMC 506.3.2.5. 4. The makeup air inWke appears to be within 10 feet of an exhaust. IMC 501.2.1. If you have any questions, please call me at 425-257-7264.
