The <br /> shafl is open at the bottom and the top. An existing duct comes up from the floor below through this shaft <br /> and runs through a raied corridor without a fire/smoke damper. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Provide a firelsmoke damper at the floor inside the shatt with access door to protect the opening in the <br /> iloor and leave the exisGng shaft as is.
