Soil at these construction projects may contain elevated concentrations of azsenic. Excavation ofthis soil could cesult in the generation of state dangerous wute. In an effort to minimize the chance that soil, potentially classified as dangerous waste, is handled and transported improperly, I am requesting that the City include a condition on any building permit for constrvction projects conducted on the Everett Smelter site (see attached map). Any consUuction projects that will require the movement or disturbance of soil should contain ihe following condition: Representative soil samples must be collected and analyzed for total usenic content. Only soil that will be disturbed should be sampled. The aumber of samples necessary will depend on the amount of soil that will be disturbed. Soil samples should be coller�ed-and analyzed in � accordance with standazd environmental laboratory procedures.
