G%'G1rr2' ELECTRIC COMPANY
ELFCTRIGAI CONTRACTORS
2121 nORTN 35h • SEATTLE, WASHIIJGTON 98103 • ME. 2•4350
January 23, 1969
t?r. Sartin Selig
c/o Empire Childre's Wear Company
2609 First Avenue
Seattle, Washington
Re: Eastmont Shopping Center Electrical Corrections
Dear 7r. Selig:
Upon receipt of the letters from the ::verett f'ire Department,
I investigated further to ascertain the exact nature of the complaint
from Ir. Hills R. Collins, the Fire Marshall for the City of Everett.
Recent discussions with Nr. Dougherty, the Chief Electrical
Inspector for the City of Everett discloses that for the most part, the
corrections involved cord extension :ype wiring, which is a matter of
housekeeping and reshuffling of the various equipment in the stores at
the shopping center.
In rarticular, Ir. Dougherty refei•red to the refrigerator and
clock outlets in the drug store. The food store has extensions to an
office area, various signs, and additional cases , which are illegal
extensions by virtue of their wirirg method, as well as a possible hazard to
the building itself from a fire standpoint. It would appear that each
tenant does his oan extensions with cords as he sees fit, which is not
in your best interest, as well as the various tenants.
The most reasonable approach is the one sug9ested by 1r. Dougherty
that proper outlets be provided for the various uses which your tenants
seem to be requiring, or the immediate disconnection of various facilities
which have been i]legally extended. I trust that you will review this •
situation with your tenants so that a proper resolution of the si:uaY.ion
can be arrived at without further consultation with the Fire Department.
If we can be of further service to you, piease do not hesitate to
call . Thanking you for your courtesy and consideration, 'I am
Very truly yours,

Ray 0'Leary
COCNRAN ELECTRIC COMPANY
RO'L;jk "
