REPORT
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING SERVICES
` PROPOSED MULTI-FAMILY DEVELOPMENT
' MERRILL CREEK PARKWAY
- EVERETT, WASHINGTON
INTRODUCTION
; This report presents the cesults of our geotechnical enginaring services for a proposed
multi-family development on Schnitzer Northwest properry along Merrill Creek Parkway in
' Everett, Washington. The westem property boundary is located about 1,000 feet waof where
' the pazkway crosses Merrill Ring Creek. A viciniry map showing the site location is pttsented
as Figure 1.
' . The site is currendy an ur.developed, densely forested property comprising approximateiy
14.4 acres. An approximate 200-fuot-widc, upland beuch is situated on the westem boundary
of the site. The site slop=s down from this watern, upland bench to Merrill Ring Creek located
' near the eastern boundary. Several access roads are cut into the slope and tnverse the central
 ' area of the property.
We understand the proposed complex will include several two- to three-story framed
buildings with step-down foundations. The 41NCtU[GS fllflY include "daylight" buements.
f Regrading of the site will be accomplished to the extent necasary to suppor the structures and
provide suitable infrastnicture. A spccific grading plan had not been developcd at the time of
' this report. Key issua for project development include an usasment of geologic hazards and
slope stabiliry, and general geotechnical recommendations including site preparation and
- earthwotk, erosion control rreasures, building foundatic n support, pavement subgrade
j preparation, and utility installations.
:
SCOPE
' The purpose of our geotechnical enginaring setvices is to review the ezisting subsurface
information and complete additionsl test pit explontions as a basis for developing
recommendations for site earthwork and fouation support. Jur specific scope of services
r
includes the following tasks:
1. Evaluate the subsuriuce soil and ground water conditions by excavating 10 test piu with a
trackhoe.
i- 2.
