The StormCAD program sums the flows tribulary to each
reach (pipe) and then performs a direct step backwater analysis on the network.
IFor further background on StormCAD please refer to the Appendix.
IThe hydraulic grade line calculation was computed using the 100-year storm
event. The rational method was used to determine the Flow tributary to each
Icatch basin. Tn be conservative, the pre-settling pipe (72-inch diameter) was
modeled as a 12-inch diameter pipe.
IThe inflow at CB #4 includes the controlled release rate from the existing
I detention pipe. The controlled release rate for the 100-year storm event is 0.81
cfs.
IFor the modeling of the STORM PROFILE 2, it is conservatively assumed that all
runoff enters ihe system through CB #9.
IThe (ollowing table shows the iniormation used io calculate the hydraulic grade
Iline and the resulting freeboard.
I Q Rim Elevation HGl Elevation Freeboard
CB cfs (ft) ft_ t t)
2 0.53 553.10 549.2f1 3.82
I _ 3 0.22 — 555.80_ — 550.46 5.34
4 1.29 557.40 550.74 6.66
5 0.39 557.40 551.29 6.11
6 0.64 554.80 551.63 3.17
I7 .--— 0 __561.00_ 558.03 --— 2.97_
8 0 5G6.00 56177 4.23
— 9 -- 2.d2-- — 571.40 568.17 3.23
Please refer to lhe Appendix for the StormCAD oatput.
I
, – – -- _-- -- ;—
Icbiu.ir., .'nl . . . .
