The <br /> j StormCAD program sums the flows tributary to each reach (pipe) and then <br /> perfonns a direct step backwater analysis on the network. The steady state <br /> i energy equation (Bernoulli equation) is used along each reach (pipe) in the <br /> network. The friction loss is calculated using Manning's equation continuously <br /> along ihe length of the pipe. The hydraulic grade line is calculated from <br /> downstrean� to upstream (as is iypical for backwater calculations).
