LOME RAIN, WE SHINE. SRMW/ITE
MANAOEMENT
February 1G,2005
Santhosh Moolayil
Jay Group Engineering
1927 5th Street
Marysville,WA 98270
RE: Review of StormFille:T^+ Design for Nextel Tower project.
This fs to document for the City of Evereri our revfew o(the plans and the proposed
application of the StormFilter al this site as you have requested.
Stormwaler Management, Inc. has reviewed the Stormfilter design for lhe Nextel Tower site.
The storm drainage syslem for this proJect was designed by Jay Group Engineering of
Marysville,WA. We believe the StormFilter'^^ is an appropriate water quality solution for this
site.
The designer reports an impervious drainage area of 0.37 AC.The water quality ftow rate was
determined by Jay Group Engineei ing, using the Santa arbara Urban Hydrograph method.
The water quality design precipitation of.96"/24-hour was utilized in the basin model. The
design water quality flow rale was delermined to be 0.0699 c(s.The calchbasin SLormFiller
wilh 2 cartridges calted out on the plan will treat up to 0.067 cfs. For conveyance design
purposes, the 100year conveyance ilow ihrough the vault was determined to be 0,27 cfs
using the basin model.Tliis flowrate is within the internal bypass/conveyance capability of
the system. Thus,no extemal bypass structure is required.Uur syslems require periodic
maintenance lo operale properly. Given typical rooftop/parking lot pollutant loading rates,
Stormwater Management, Inc. recommends maintenance on an annual basis.
The configuration of the StormFilter inlet and outlet pipes is acceptable. The system appears
to be constructile and is located in order lo facilitate maintenance activities. In summary,
this filter is eYpected to operate in accordance with Stormwater ManagemenCs design intent.
However,Stormwater Management has not reviewed the hydraulics of the collection system
upsLeam or downstream of the(ilter.
Either you or the City's reviewer may conlact rne i!you liave any questions.
Sincerel ''
 / ,%
/i/ r.
r Joe Reidy
Project Designer
570pMWAlER MANAGEMENT, INC • 12021B NE AIRPORT WAY.
