These piers are intended for
''support of residence foundations due to existing unsuitable soil conditions.
A total of 40 piers were installed, 21 within lot 2 and 19 within lot 3. The
'1 piers were nominally 16" diameter and filled with concr2te up to desired grade.
Piers aere placed within locations provided by you and penetrated a minimum of
''4' into the underlying hard silt where found, and 5' into the medium dense to
 dense sand and gravel where found. Four of the holes encountered ground water;
1 lot 3#7, 9 11, and lot 2#18. We observed concrete placement within these four
holes to see that water was forced from the bottom (flushed), but other holes were
' not observed for concrete placement. Reinforcing ;aas to bedetermined by others.
We have enclosed a tabulation of depths for each pier installed. These depths
' corr.espond to elevations below prepared ground surface at the time of pier
installation. We hae also included a map showing the pier number for each lot
, area, and can be used to locatP piers as numbered on the depth tabulation.
y The area indicated as the 'lower terrace' in lot 2 is approximately 2' below
• the area indicated as the 'upper terrace' in lot 2.
' It is our opinion that each pier has been installed adequately to achieve the
1 10-12 ton per pile design capacity as required on the approved plans and the
' specifications. _
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service, and trust the abpve•inFormation
is of use.
