TO
FROM
DATE
City Attorney
Frank Woltring
April 1, 1969
sueECT Sructure Inspection 2915 Nassau
CITY OF LVCR[TT. EVLREiT. WASHINGTON
An inspection was made on the structure located at z915 Nassau,
Everett, Washington, Division C. Block 68, Lot 9 by Frank
Woltring and Frank Bennett on Aprll 10, 1969.
The following cor.ditions were found:
It appeared to be a two story duplez. The exterior of the
building is single construction covered with a metal imitation
brick. Rear second story landing and lower porch are extensively
deteriorated. The steps from second story landing has fallen
dowri. ( See Photo)
Interior walls 2x4 freming wlth lz6 boards and was napered before
fire did extensive damage to both stories.
In t}e South center bedroom all four walls have the lx6 boards
burned off and the studs and ceiling joist (2x10) are burned to
the point of collapsing. The North and South walls of same room
are bearing walls supporting the second floor framing. The
balance of the lower floor is charred to the extent the lx6
boards would all have to be removed.
The fire burned out the stairs to the second floor to the extent
they are nearly burned away.
The upstairs hall, especially at the top of the stairs, Ss burned
through the ceiling and has burned out the 2z4 roof trusses, and
the entire roof trusses and roof would have to be replaced.
(See Yhoto) The framing in the walls in the hall and all of the
walls in the South Center bedroom, 2nd floor, would all have to
be replaced. The balance of the floor would have to be stripped
to framing.
Building would have to be r.ewired and replum'ed. All wlndors and
doors including frames would have to be replace3.
The appurtenaul structures are so detericated that they are
collapsing and must be removed. (See Ploto) Because of the
extensive fire damage and deterioration of the structure and
lack of set backs and the sides of the property lines, rehabilita-
tion of this building is considered prohibitive, and should be
demolished.
F'W:9b
