A letter was mailed to thc <br />owner on May 23, 1973 which notified him that the structure was open. <br />A reinspection ef the site on November 13, 1973, revealed Chat the building <br />was furtlier deteriorated, open to the puUlic and badly vandalized. The <br />structure was posted as "Unlawful to Occupy". The owner was notified of <br />this Uy telephone. <br />During an inspection of the site on January 9, 197�i, we n�ticed no im- <br />provement or attempt to secure the building. A formal "Notice of <br />Unsafe Building" was mailed to the owner Uy certified mail and was <br />received by Mr. Ladely on January 11, 1974. <br />A Buil3ing Officials hearing was scheduled for Ptarcli 28, 1974 and noCice <br />was sent to Mr. Ladely on March 11, 1974. <br />On March 14, 1974, Pir. Ladely telephoned our office and agreed that the <br />structure is substandard. He requested tlie names of demolition contractors <br />and promised to demolish or make arrangements to rehabilitate the <br />building. Mr. Ladely was advised to find a solution to the problem, on <br />or before the IIuilding Officials Hearing. <br />The Building Of-ficials Hearing was conducted on Mardi 28, 1974. As <br />Mr. Ladely was not present at the hearing, the Building Official direcCed <br />that the matter be referred to the City Council. <br />0 <br />
