Excavation for the foundation of the main residence was completed on Feb.24, 2005 and was confirmed during our visit on uaat date. An approximate 25 ft. cut had been made along the south side of the main residence foundation, abutine the garage area. Due to the presence of significant amounts of uncontrolled till, the southern cut face was laid back to approximately a IH:1V slope for stability purposes. Stockpiled soil are laid out around the entire perimeter of the lot. The excavation for the foundation of the main residence, due to the basement and the amount of uncontrolled fill, was significantly deeper than that required for the garage. It is not possible to safely excavate for the garage foundation at the same time as the main residence due to the site and building constraints listed above. In order to safely prepare the garage area for its foundation. the main residence foundation, basement walls, main level floorjoist, and the foundation backfill will need to be in place. The preparation of the site for the placement of the garage foundation will proceed under the direction of GES, Inc. once the items listed above have been completed.
