NELSON AND ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />Consulting Enginecring Geology <br />March 11, 1985 <br />Project No. 1485 <br />Page two <br />Location and Site Description <br />The investigated site area consists of the northerly lot which has been <br />short platted, located at 1019 Mukilteo aoulevard, in Everett, Washington. <br />Presently this portion of the site is not developed. Vegetation consists <br />of grasses, brush and blackberry vines. Topographically, the southern <br />portion of the site is relatively flat lying, but breaks into a moderate <br />to steep sloue to the north toward a stream area at the base. The approxi- <br />mate top-of-slope line is shown on the location map. <br />Soils Conditions <br />7he subsurface soils conditions can best be seen on the enclosed test <br />pit logs. <br />In general, the site area was fuund to be underlain by grey-brown to grey, <br />medium dense to dense, poorly sorted to medium grained sand, with minor <br />gravel. This basal material was found to occur at elevations below <br />grade ranging from 2.5' to 8'. Overlying the basal dense sands is a <br />strata of brown to grey-bro�an, loose to medium dense, poorly sorted to. <br />medium grained sand. This strata is found to.vary in thickness from 2' <br />to 4'. Overlying the medium dense sand is a 1.5' to 2' thick strata <br />of brown loose silty sand with roots. A surficial thickness of artificial <br />fill, ranging from 1' to 6' thick, was found generally throughout the site <br />area. This fill is composed generally of brown to black, intermixed silt, <br />sand, gravel, organic and rubble, and in some areas grey-brown loose silty <br />sand, with minor organics. It appears that the top-of-slope and a portion <br />of the slope area has been subjected to past filling operations. <br />Hvdrologic Conditions <br />The ground water tzble was not encountered within the areas explored by <br />the test pits. Some evidence of outcropping ground water was observed <br />along the toe-of-slope area, however, indicating the presence of ground <br />water witii depth. <br />
