PLANNING DEPARTMENT
CITY HALL
EVERETT, WASHINGTON
I, Lawrence H. Wicken owner of Lots 1&2 and 3-6 Block 2 of the
Queen Anne Addition to Everett am requesting a variance to the
present height limit for a single family residence of 28 feet
to the 1987 height limit of 35 feet.
A. The reason for the variance request is because the lot
elevation is approximately 10 feet below road and bridge
level. The lot is directly South of the bridge which is
between Glenwood and Greely on Mukilteo Blvd.
B. This variance is necessary for us to be able to build
up so the living area won't be louking directly at the
side of the bridge. Also this will enable us to have
a partial view of the sound looking towards the North-
west, from the upper floor.
C. Allowing this variance will not block anyones view.
The view from our site is to the Northwest. Directly
to the North is heavily treed property belonging to
Burlington Northern Railroad. To the East is a steep
unbuildable Ravine. To the South is treed property
belonging to Frans Thuyns. I talked to Mr. Thuyns on
this matter and he is not opposed to our requested
variance.
D. To my knowledge this variance will not adversely affect
the comprehensive general plan.
EXHIBIT 3
NARRATIVE STATEMENT
