Could you provide us with 2 full
size copies. Please continue with the work as planned.
Kirk
From: Dennis Titus [mailto:dennist@cgengineering.com]
Sent: Thursday, January 11, 2007 3:49 PM
To: Kirk Brooks
Subject: pw0612-003
Kirk,
Construction is about to begin on this project. In case you don't remember it, it is a slope stabilization retaining wall on the Mukilteo
DLD. After the recent rains the slope is showing more signs of movement in areas that we weren't planning on shoring up. The
Owner and the contractor would like to extend the shoring wall farther than was approved on the permit drawings. It is getting close
to the point now where it is going to be an emergency if construction isn't started in the next couple of weeks.
i will have revised plans completed Monday. I assume you will need to see these since we are extending the wall. 1 will include a
preliminary plan and proposed plan so you can see the changes. Our Gcotech is out of town until the end of January so I won't be able
to get another letter of review from him until then. 'these changes were all discussed with him on site before he left. All of the testing
and monitoring criteria will remain the sane. Will we need another review letter from him for a revised submittal? Nelson
Geotechnical will be perfonning on site observations during pile driving as well as anchor load tests and will be involved during the
construction process.
What will be the turn around time on this? The contractor would like to start staging equipment next late week and start construction
the following week. Is this feasible? I'm afraid we are running out of time to get this hill side shored up. I would have gotten this to
you sooner but it just came to in, yesterday.
Thank you for your time. Let me know if you have any questions or continents. I have a site inspection in Spokane tomorrow
(Friday) and will be gone most of the day but will be in the office all day Monday.
Dennis Titus
CG Engineering
250 4th Avenue South, Suite 200
Edmonds, WA 98020
P (425) 778-8500
F (425) 778-5536
l
1 /16/2007
