Geotechnical Engineering Evaluation and Slide Repairs
1915 Mukilteo Boulevard
July 26, 2006
NGA File No. 743206
Summary - Page 2
methods. Based on this understanding, we have recommended the use of a light retaining wall to be
placed along the top of the slope within the areas that show the most damage (namely the portion of the
slope along the northern side of the residence), along with erosion controi and drainage systems to be
utilized below the retaining wall. Within the areas of the slope that have not been severely impacted by
the slide, but are still at significant risk of future movement (northeast and east of the residence), we
recommend a combination of drainage improvements and erosion control measures to reduce the potential
for future sliding, along with a monitoring program to assess the future performance of these areas for
potential repairs as needed.
The recommendations provided in this report for repairing the site slopes are preliminary and general in
nature. We expect that we would need to work closely with your designer and contractor to come up with
a practical design for the needed stabilization measures and to also ensure that these measures are
implemented correctly in the field.
It has been a pleasure to provide service to you on this project. Please contact us if you have any
questions regarding this report or require further information.
Sincerely,
SOCIATES, INC.
Two Copies Submitted
cc: Greg Guillen — CG Engineering (One Copy)
