Marine View Drive is. designated as a "Gateway" corridor in the <br /> City's General Plan. The General Plan states, "Because Everett <br /> wants to develop and promote an attractive image, all entry <br /> corridors into the City should be designated as "Gateways" and <br /> standards should be applied to developments along suci: <br /> �'Gateways" relating to building design, landscaping, signage, <br /> outdoor storage and other aesthetic considerations that will <br /> serve to upgrade E�:erett's image" . To meet the intent of the <br /> policy, the following requirements must be met: <br /> a. Architectural treatment of the building should be provided <br /> which breaks up the appearance of bulk of the building. This <br /> could include use of alternating building materials or <br /> colors. <br /> b. Street trees must be provided on East Marine View Drive in <br /> addition to the Type III landscaping required, with species I <br /> approved by the Parks Departcaent. The Parks Department choice <br /> is a Flowering Cherry such as the Sargent Cherry Columar. li <br /> These street trees must be planted at 20 feet on center. The � <br /> 1 <br />
