. ;

2) determine the total volume of stormwater runoff from contributing areas
(impervious and pervious)using the Santa Bazbara Urban Hydrograph method
or:omparable method.
City staidards require a minimum f 5046 of the wetpond design vol.,,ue to be
provided as permanent dead storage and for tlx entire wetpond design volume to be
reached during the wetpond design storm. Routing of the wetpond design storm
developed hydrograph through the pond is required to verify that the wetpond design
volume is reached for the wetpond design storm. The size of the prunary onfice can
be decreased as nxessary, to a minimum ellowable orifice size of 1 inch, to aclrieve
enough live storaga If a 1 inch orifice doesn't result in tle required storage in the
pond, then the percentage of the wetpond design volume provided as dead storage must
be increased until the combination of dead storage and peak live storage (during the
wetpond design storm) equais the wetpond design volume.
The design depth of dead and live storage in the wetpond must be given in the
calculadon package. The open water cell (or wetvault) is required to have a dead
storage depth of 3-6 feet, the wedand treatment cell may have a maximum average
depth of 1.33 fcet.
The stage-storage relationship of the pond is also required to show that the pond has
the capaciry to store the required wetpond permanent storage volume and any live
storage volume.
The volume of dead storage provided in the open water cell and treatment cell must be
stated in the calculation package. A minimum of 304b of the required permanent
storage volume must be contained within the treatment cell.
Miscellaneous•
The wetpond should be lined or othcrwise sealed to prevent saturadon of the adjacent
fill slope by water seeping into the ground from the pond.
