WATTSUN 5 7 COMPONENT CHECKLIST 03/13/02 <br />FILE: C:\\WATTSUN5\\OVERSTRE.WS HOUSE ID: <br />main living area <br />Exhaust Duct Insulation: <br />_ All exhaust ducts extending more than two feet beyond <br />insulation are insulated to R4. <br />_ Maximum duct length for 4" duct is 25'; for 5" duct <br />is 351; and for 6" duct is 50'. <br />_ Exhaust ducts terminate outside of the residence in a <br />fitting with a net free area not less than the cross <br />sectional area of the duct. <br />Controls & Operation: <br />_ Intermittently -operating, '.whole -house exhaust fans <br />shall have both automatic and manual controls. <br />_ Automatic controls shall include a time clock or cycle <br />timers with a minimum of two on -periods per day. <br />_ Automatic controls shall be set to provide at least <br />8 hou-s of mechanical ventilation per day. <br />_ All gas or oil combustion appliances (except stoves <br />and clothes dryer) have outside combustion air ducted <br />directly to the appliance. <br />All stoves have an exhaust fan directly over them. <br />_ All combustion exhausts are separated by minimum 3' <br />vertically or 10, horizontally. <br />Page 4 <br />
