Kirk Brooks NGiG7V t -C/5
From: Ryan Sass
Sent: Tuesday, September 05, 2006 8:43 AM
To; 'Tom Weller'; Ken Oisen; PoliL@portofeverelt.com; Eric Russell
Cc: John Smith; Nick Ching; Larry Crawford; NBFadich@SNOPUD.com; Bill Saur; Kirk Brooks
Subject: RE: PEVT00000019 (W MVD Improvements) - City CommentslMeetingRequest
Tom,
I'll address #2 and #3 in advance for you:
Please consider item number 2 a friendly suggestion, based on the brief permit pian review by Michael Brick. It is nol a
requirement. I explained to Mike during his review that we have been involved in reviewing channelization throughoul the
design and that his comment woutd be offered as a suggestion oniy.
The concern about marked crosswalks at the throats is two-fold:
1.) The City Sfreets division is not well suited to maintain these custom decorative crossings. They appear to be
within the public R/W boundaries.
2.) Visibility of the crossing markings at these locations will be important because these are at the boundary between
reiatively fast traffic on WMVD transitioning to the slower, private roadway network within the Port Gardner Wharf site.
We understand and appreciate your desire to create consistency and place identily with these decorative crossings. We
can discuss making sure they are adequately visible and perhaps maintenance of these decorative crossings by the Port
or PGW .
Let's have the discussion on this one. We are fine with your desire to have custom lighling on the PGW side of the street,
we just want to be sure that the iliumination is appropriate in geometry, illumination levels, uniformity and distribution for
WMVD.
Let us know when you would like to meet.
/ Ryan
-----Original Message-----
From: Tom Weller [mailto:Tmw@deainc.comj
Sent: Friday, September 01, 2006 3:47 PM
To: Kirk Brooks; Ryan Sass; Nick Ching; Ken Olsen;
PoliL@portofeverett.com; Eric Russell
Cc: John Smith; Larry Crawford; NBFadich@SNOPUD.com
Subject: PEVT00000019 (WMVD Improvements) - City CommentslMeetingRequest
Importance: High
" High Priority "
Gentiemen,
We desire to coordinale a meeling to discuss a small number of the City
commenls made on ihe May 2006 WMVD improvement Pians. The topics of
discussion are:
1. Roy Harris and John Jimmerson have concerns regarding the
landscaping plan
2. Request by Michaei Brick to provide acceleration lanes for left
tum movements leaving the site. Their addition would negatively impact
