This fortn pertnits hand written, <br />typewritten or computer preparation and covers both Pre-Bid and Post-Bfd <br />SubstituNon Requests. <br />2. Submit SubstituNon Request in duplicate. An addiGonal copy of Substltution Request <br />may be submitted directly to Mechanical and Electrical Consultants. <br />3. Prepare SubstituBon Request (or single item or single system. <br />4. Failure to place orders for specified products or systems sufficiendy (n advance of <br />installatlon scheduled date(s) not considered a valid reason upon which Contractor <br />may base request for Substitutions or for deviallons ham Contract Documents. <br />5. Blank Substltutlon Request forms available at ArchitecYs Otflce and Plan Centers or <br />may be duplicated from sample in Specificallons. Computer disk availeble from <br />Architcct and Plan Centers. <br />6. Architect is sole judge of acceptability of proposed substitutions. Only accx�pted <br />substitutions pertnitted on Contract work. Substitution axeptance does not relieve <br />Contractor from responsibility for proper execuqon of work and complfance with other <br />Contract requirements. <br />7. Include in SpeciNcallons Items 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, above and following suggested <br />information regarding use of Substitution Request. <br />Pre-Bid Substltutlons: <br />1. Suggested Location Section 01630 with reference in Instructions to Bidders. <br />Suggested wording: <br />2. Submit requests for Substitutions on format per attached form. Requesls not <br />submitted on altached format unacceptable. <br />3. Substitution Request must be received by Architect not later ihan't working days <br />before bid opening. <br />4. An addendum to registered plan holders issued not less than? working days before <br />bid opening listing approved Substitutions. <br />Post-Bid Sut�stitutions end Negotiated Contracts Permitted Only Under Following <br />Conditions: <br />1. Suggested Location Section 01630. Suggested wording: <br />2. Submit requests for substitutions on format per attached form. Requests not <br />submitted on attached format unacceptabte. <br />3. Manufacturer ceases operation or approved products or system no longer available. <br />Contact Architect immediately if this occurs. <br />4. Owner or Architect requests a substitution. <br />5. If it can be shown that specified product or syste �i is not well suited for proposed <br />application or that another is superior and/or less costly. Attach detailed <br />documentation including cost savings/increase. <br />6. General Contractor's signature also required at location shown on farm. <br />
