<br />7513.6.1. Where autanaUc tlme switches are cited, they shall
<br />have the features listed in Section 7513.6.2.
<br />1513.1 Local Control and Accessiblliry: Each space,
<br />enclosed by walls or.aiting-helght partitbns, shall bo prwided
<br />wilh lighting controls located within ihal spxe. The lighting
<br />rnntro�s, whether one or more, shall be capablo of tuming oR
<br />all li9hts within the spaw. The conirols shail be readily
<br />accessible, al the point of entryfexit, lo personnel xcupying or
<br />using the space.
<br />EXCEPTIONS: 7he (olbwing �ighling conVols may be
<br />cenValized in remole Ixalions:
<br />1. Lighdng conirois fa spaces which musl be used
<br />as a whole.
<br />2. Automatic controis.

<br />which contrul �he IigMs independenl of general area lighling.
<br />ConGq�ous daylight zones adjacent to vertical glazing are
<br />ullowc,i :o be contmlied by a single controlliny device provided
<br />Ihat lhey do not inciude zones facing more ihan lwo adjacent
<br />cardinal orienlations (i.e. north, east, soulh, wesl). Daylight
<br />zones under overhead glazinq more Ihan 15 feel from lhe
<br />porimeter shall be controlled separateiy Irom dayliqhl zones
<br />adjacent to vertical glazing.
<br />EXCEPTION:
<br />Daylighl spaces enclosetl by walls or ceiling

<br />general area lighting.
<br />1513.4 Display, Exhibitlon, and Speclally Lighting
<br />Controls: All display, exhibition, or specially Iighling shall be
<br />conlrolled independently of general area lighting.
<br />li9hting not intended for 24-hour contlnuous use shaM be
<br />aulomaticaly switched by timar, pAotocell, or a combinatlm of
<br />timer and photocell. Aulometic time nwilches must elso have
<br />program back-up capebilities, which prevent Me bss of
<br />pmgram and time settings tor al Ieast 10 hours, H power is
<br />interrupted.

<br />1517.6.1 Oceupaney Sensors: Occupanr.y sensors sAali be
<br />capable ol automatkally tuming oH all the lights in en area, no
<br />mae Ihan 30 minutes afler the area hes been vaceled.
<br />1513.6.2 Automatle Tlme Switehas: Au!omatic time swilches
<br />shall have a minimum 7 day clock end be capahle of being sal
<br />fa 7 diRerent day types per week and Incorporete an automatic
<br />holiday'shuboft" teature, which tums oN all loads for al least
<br />24 hours and Itien resumes normally scl eduled operations.
<br />Automatic time switches shall also have program back-up
<br />capabilities, which prevent the loss of program and time
<br />setlings for al least 70 hours, if power is intertupted.
<br />Automalic Iime owitches shell incorporale an over-ride
<br />swilching tlevice which:
<br />a) is readily uccessible;
<br />h) is located so thal a person using Iha device can see Iha
<br />lighls a the ereas controlled by the switch, or so that 1he
<br />area being illuminated is annunaated; and

<br />d) allows Ihe lighting lo remain on fa no more than Mo Murs
<br />when an over•ride Is initiuled; and
<br />e) controls an area not exceeding 5,000 square feel or 5
<br />percent of footpnnt for loolprints over 100,000 square feel,

<br />1513.7 Commissioning Rpuiromanta: Fa lightlng conVols
<br />which include daylighl or occw2nt sensing automatic cootrds,
<br />automaUc shul-olf conlrols, occu+ancy sensors, a autometk
<br />time switches, ihe lighting conlrols shall be tested to ensure
<br />Ihal conirol devices, componenis, equipmenl and syslems are
<br />calibrated, adjusted and oparate In accordance with approved
<br />plans and specificalions. Sequences of operetion shall be
<br />funclionally tested to onsure they operate in accordance with
<br />approved plans and specificatbns. A camptete report of test
<br />procedures and resulis shall ba prepared and filed wilh lhe
<br />owner. Drawing notes shall require canmissioning in
<br />accordanco with this paragraph.
