<br />4.2.3.1 Subfloor and Roof Sheathf ng: Shealliing shall be
<br />minimum tsia2 inch (11.9 mm) Ihick, wilh long edges
<br />inslalled perpendicular to trusses. Sheathing shall be
<br />attached with 6d deformed shank nails or Bd common nails
<br />spaced 6 inches (152 n.m) on cenler at panel ends and 12
<br />inches (305 mm) on crMer in ihe 5eld.
<br />4.2.3.2 Wood Trusseu: Trusses shall be spaced a rnaxi-
<br />mum of 24 inches (610 mm) on centec For pamllel chord
<br />Irusses, minimum deplh shall be 15 inr.hos (381 mmJ. Foi
<br />sloped Uusses, slope shall be 3:12 or grealer Irom each
<br />end, with cenhal podion depih 19 vz inches (495 mm) or

<br />4.2.3.3 Bracing: Bracing members lhat are minimum 2•6
<br />nominal lumber are orienleA veAically and installed perpen-
<br />dicular to trusaes on maximum 10-l001 centers (3046 mm).
<br />The brace members are faslened to each lruss with three
<br />16d nails.
<br />4.2.3.4 Insulation: Insulation is permiUed in plenum arca,
<br />and can include direcl conlacl wilh upper face of wallboard.
<br />42.3.5 Wallboard Edge Blocking: Adjncent bese-layer
<br />ceiling•wallboard ede�es perpendicular to Irusses shall have
<br />FR-Cluik Channel Sets cenlered len��hwise over Ihe
<br />wallboard joinls. Blocking shall be faslened to irusses with
<br />one. 7-inch•long (25.4 mm), Type S drywall screw at each
<br />end.
<br />4.T.3.6 Gypsum Wallboard: Two layers of uz-inch-Ihick
<br />(25.4 mm), Type X�ypsum wallboard are installed with the
<br />lang dimensions perpendicular lo tmsses and staggered
<br />between base layer and finish layer. End joints shall be
<br />IocoleA on centerline of truss chords, slaggered in each
<br />layer and between base layer and finish layer minimum 24
<br />inches (610 mm). The base Iayer shall be altached directly
<br />lo trusses with 1 s�a-inch-long (41.3 mm), Type S drywall
<br />screws with Dond Washers spaced 12 inches (305 mm) on
<br />center. The base layer is faslened to channel sets witli
<br />Bond Washers and Type S, 1-inch-lonc� (25.4 mm) screws
<br />on 8-inch (203 mm) conters, driven through the crease
<br />between adjacent wallboards. The fnish layer shall be
<br />fastened lo trusses wilh 2 iw-inch-lonc� (57 mm) Type S
<br />drywall screws on 8-inch (203 mm) cenlers.
<br />An altemative installation using resilienl cliannels consisls
<br />o( lwo layers of irz-inch-Ihick (12.7 mm). Type X gypsum
<br />wallboard wilh the base layer inslalled with long dimensions
<br />perpendicular to lrusses. End joints shall be located on
<br />centerline of Iruss chords and shall be staggered. The base
<br />layer is fastened direclly to irusses with 1:�o-irch•long (41.3
<br />mm) Type S drywall screws spaced 12 inches (305 mm) on
<br />center. The base layer is faslen=d lo channel sets with Bond
<br />Washers and Type S, 1-inch-long (25.4 mm) screws on
<br />8-inch (203 mm) cenlers, dnven ihroug� lhe crease between
<br />adjacent wallboards. Resitienl chann�ls formed of No. 25
<br />gac�e (0.027 inch (0.53 mm)J MSG c�alvanized steel, spaced
<br />00 24•inch (fi10 mm) centers perpendicular lo Wsses,
<br />overlapped at splices 7 uz inches (38 mm), are fastened �o
<br />each truss with an Bd nail or a Type S, 1:�e-inch-long (41.3
<br />mm� screw. Minimum clearance of channels lo walls shall be
<br />va inch (19.1 mm). Additionai pieces 60 inches (1524 mm)
<br />lonc� shall be placed immediately adjacenl lo end joinis o(
<br />the finish layer wallboarcl and shall extend 6 inches (152
<br />mm) heyond each edge of the wallboard. Finish Iayer
<br />waliboard long dimensions shall be perpendicular lo chan-
<br />nels. End joinls shall be slaggered. The f nish layer shall be
<br />attoched direclly lo channels with Type S, 1•inch-long (25.4
<br />mm) screws on 8-inch (203 mm) cenlers.
<br />4.2.3.7 Finish Syslem: All joinls shall be covered with
<br />paper tape embedded in cemenlitous compeund, and
<br />ezposed screw heads shall be covered with compound. As
<br />an al�ornative, nominal 3ia2•inch•thick (2.38 mm) veneer
<br />plaster, romplying wilh ASTM C37, is permilled to be
<br />applied to Iho enlire suAace of the wailboard.
<br />5.0 IDENTIFICATION
<br />Reterence to ihis evaluation report and the evalualion
<br />report that specifically evaluates Ihe Iruss connector plates
<br />shall be placed on all plans and speci(ications where 1he
<br />assemblies lisled in this report are utilized.
