These comments <br />address building issues only. Additional revisions, or additions, may be• requimd by other <br />depamnents (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer ro the 1997 Uniform Building <br />Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Enerey Code, 2001 Edition, <br />unless stated othenvise. <br />In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the <br />Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting the corrections requested. <br />1. The rop of �uardrails shall not be less than 43" in height. (UBC 509.Z). <br />2. Walls separating units shall not be of less than one-hour fire-resistive construction. Please <br />verify. (UBC 310.2.2) <br />A one-hour occupancy separation (�ertical and horizontal) is required between the garaee or <br />storage units. (UBC 302.1) The door opening, in the vertical part of the occupancy <br />separation, is required to be protected by an assembly havin� a one-hour fire-protection <br />ratino. (UBC 302.3.-4) Structural members (beams, columns and walls) supporting the <br />horizontal occupancy separation shall be protected by one-hour fire-resistive construction. <br />(UBC 302.2) <br />-4. Fan penetrations into one-hour tloor/ceilin� assemblies bet�veen units are required to be <br />protected by fire dampers. Please include the requirement. (UBC 713.11.�4) <br />�. The _araee doorjumb shear walls do not meet the shape requirements of UBC'_31�.1 as set <br />fonh in Table 33-1 l-G. <br />6.
