11. For fire safety in multi -family projects with community laundry facilities, the following is required: <br />a. A self -closing, solid core door shall be installed for the laundry room. Any restraining <br />device shall be activated by an approved smoke detector. <br />b. A covared metal container shall be provided fo, the disposal of combustible waste in the <br />laundry room. <br />12. Construction and demolition of buildings shall be in compliance with the provisions of the 2003 <br />International Fire Code, Chapter 14. <br />13. Permits are required from the Fire Department for removal and installation of underground fuel <br />tanks. <br />14. Abandoned tanks shall be pumped out and the fuel properly disposed of prior to removal. No <br />product or rinse water may be disposed of in such a way that it could enter the storm drains <br />system. <br />15. All fire alarm control panels (FACP) and srjrinkler valves shall be in heated rooms or closets <br />with standard man door access. Locations shall be approved by the Fire Marshal's Office. <br />16. Trash Collection - Dumpsters over 1.5 cubic yards capacity shall be located a minimum of 5 feet <br />from the building [IFC 304.3.3, 2003 Edition]. <br />KJ:IIN <br />'�4 <br />
