June 26, 2013 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 12:30 p.m., June 26, 2013, in the City Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Hall, Council President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found <br /> that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Moore, Murphy, Gipson, <br /> Bader, Stonecipher, and Affholter were present. Council Member Roberts <br /> was excused. <br /> Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the June 19, 2013, Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Member Bader abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> At the invitation of Mayor Stephanson, Chief Atwood introduced Mike <br /> Painter, Director of Professional Services with the Washington <br /> Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs. Mr. Painter commented on the <br /> professionalism of the Everett Police Department and provided <br /> department recognition for being reaccredited with WASPC. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Murphy provided a liaison update on the Public Facilities <br /> District monthly board meeting. <br /> Council Member Gipson commented on the action taken by city council <br /> last week regarding the Broadway Bridge replacement and asked that a <br /> prepared statement be read into the record. Council Member Gipson <br /> asked that his vote from last week be changed from a yes to a no on <br /> closing the Broadway Bridge, and he also encouraged each council <br /> member to consider neighborhood impacts when closures come before <br /> the city council in the future. <br /> President Moore thanked Vice President Affholter for his attendance at <br /> the annual kickoff for the Casino Road Futbol Academy coordinated by <br /> the Everett Police Department. <br /> 174 <br />
