The International Building Code and the Intemational Residential Code state that all permits expirc if the work authorized by the permits is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after the work is commenced. Work under these permits will no longer be authorized unless you: 1) Demonstrate continuing progress by requesting inspection of work that has occurred since your last inspection, or 2) Request final inspections of the work that is completed, or 3) Submit a written request for a 180 day extension, detailing justifiable cause for extension. Please respond within 10 days. After that time your permit file will be sent to our Records Department for microfilming without finaf approval. These records are available to prospectivc buyers and lending institutions. If you wish to resume work in the future, a new permit must be obtained.
