On June 5, <br /> 2006, a public hearing was held to receive citizen comments. On June 14, 2006, Charter Review <br /> Committee Chairman Carl Gipson presented the Committee's recommendations to the City Council <br /> for review and consideration as ballot issues in September, 2006. On July 4, 2006, staff prepared <br /> draft language covering these proposals. <br /> After consideration of the proposed Charter amendments, Council directed staff to incorporate the <br /> proposed amendments into an ordinance, with a number of modifications and additions. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt the Proposed Ordinance <br /> approving the recommended changes in the City Charter to be forwarded to the County Auditor to <br /> be placed on the September 19, 2006 ballot <br /> 7 <br />
