Ted Budden
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2011 11:08 AM
To: Al Ivanjack
Subject: RE: 2018 Chestnut
Al.
I was able to look into your concerns at 2018 Chestnut. Mr.Jung allowed electrical Inspector Tim Alaniz and me to
observe conditions within the interior of his home this AM.
Here is a brief outline of our observations and determinations.
1. Observed electrical system hazards as defined and outlined by International Property Maintenance Code section
604,3
2. Observed accumulation of rubbish and garbage (interior of the building and exterior)as defined and outlined by
International Property Maintenance Code section 308.1 "
3, Observed conditions within the house as outlined and defined by International Property Maintenance Code
section108.1.3 "Structure Unfit For human Occupancy"
The structure in its current condition is in violation of the aforementioned codes.
The structure in its current condition should not be occupied.
I recommend condemnation of the structure pursuant to International property Maintenance Code section 108.1.
Regards.
Ted Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Division
From: Al Ivanjack
Sent: Thursday,June 23, 2011 8:46 AM
To: Ted Budden
Subject: 2018 Chestnut
Good Morning Ted,
I know I have not mentioned this address to you in the past, however Code his been working with the property owner
for a long period of time William Jung.
Mr.Jung is a hoarder and I have had Navy Volunteers out on 2 separate occasions to clean-up the property. It has finally
come down to me issuing a Violation Citation for conditions on the property that affect everyone in the neighborhood. I
received a phone call this date from a Social Worker doing follow-up work on Mr.Jung after his release from the
hospital. She is going to recommend to him that he move to a facility where he can be looked after. Her question to me
was if the house is to the point that it would be condemned. I did cite in my Citation IPMC108.1.3 Structure unfit for
human occupancy and I believe that there is also electrical problems and other concerns. If you have a moment
sometime could you take a look, but then again I could guess what you would say when you saw the structure.
Thanks and have a Great Day,
Al I.
Al Ivanjack
Code Enforcement Office
Everett Police Department
Code Enforcement Unit
1
