N.. N
1035
6/78.
P 2320 Califomia St., Everett, Washington 98201 258-8211
 Mailing flddress: P. O. Box 1107, Everett, Washington 98:06
November 21. 1979
Mr. Lloyd A. Larson
2520 Rockefell^r
Everett, WA. 98201
Dear Mr. Larsnn,
Attached are the calcula[ed hea:ing requir_ments which you requested, together
with our es[imate of probable operating cosrs. The figures are based on 20°
outdocr and 70 indoor design temperaCures and a 5,500 degree day year, which
s average for this area.
It should be recognized that this cost es[imate is a customer service and not a
guaranteed figurP. However, our past experience, based upon meter records,
has shown actual coss are generally very close to the calculated costs, depending
on the living habits of the occupants.
ff the ins[allation of electric baseboard heat is desired, we recommend che
installation of low-density units ith wattages not exceeding 25 pe neal
foot in accordance with the National Electrical Manufac[urers ,lssociation
Standards. For the best operation, base6oard units should be installed with
oacking insula[ion to insure an airtight fit with the wall.
If an electric furnace is desire, the District recommends the ins[allation of
a balanced warm air supply system wih dampers and a return air system which
will return as close to 100 of all the furnace fan CFM outout as possible. The
Distric[ further recommends that all duct work installed in non-heated spaces be
adequately insulated. This would inr.lude warm air supply ducts and return air
ducts in crawl spaces cr attics and aarm and cold air plenums on the furnace
installed in an unheated garage or other unheated area.
We hope this information will be helpful to you; however, if we may bc of
further assistance, please call us.
Sincerely,
l—
 . - • i
/r:lJ/ii U/IL'-
Jennifer Gugino
Ener.gy Coservation Depar.tment
Nttachment
