TO Page. 10- PLUMBERS AND PIPE FITTERS In nddillon to the rules and regulations of the Company respecting water supply, the following Instructions are publlshed for the Information and guidance of plumbers, pipe -litters and all persons concerned: On the back of this sheet a statement of the work done and fixtures put In must be made by the plumber and returned to the office of the Corn- pany. In all cases a "stop and waste" must be put In, and so placed that it is easily accessible to the consumer, and In such a posltlon that It will drain all the pipes. It placed outside the building It most be boxed, so that It can be i easily reached, and so that It can be protected from frost. All pipes, Inside and mLLstde, must be Inid tree from traps so that they will drain when the waste Is open. Pipes In the ground must be laid not less than twenty-four inches below the surface. All pipes must be run so as to avoid stoppages. and all traps must be well secured. No bushing must he used to connect with the stop -cock at the sidewalk: nipples or reducing sockets may be used It necessazy. Plumbers may turn on water for the purpose of testing their pipes, but they must leave it shut off at the Company's servil.41-cock, and in no ease turn on the water for consumers. I The water will not be turned on to any premises until the statement herein required has been furnished to the Company and the Inspector shall certify that the work has been done In accordance with its rules and regain. dons.
