EVIW&ATER COMPANY. <br />t' plot book CIRCULAR <br />Vol -.I.$ .... <br />TO <br />Page. 10- <br />PLUMBERS AND PIPE FITTERS <br />In nddillon to the rules and regulations of the Company respecting water <br />supply, the following Instructions are publlshed for the Information and <br />guidance of plumbers, pipe -litters and all persons concerned: <br />On the back of this sheet a statement of the work done and fixtures put <br />In must be made by the plumber and returned to the office of the Corn- <br />pany. <br />In all cases a "stop and waste" must be put In, and so placed that it is <br />easily accessible to the consumer, and In such a posltlon that It will drain all <br />the pipes. It placed outside the building It most be boxed, so that It can be <br />i <br />easily reached, and so that It can be protected from frost. All pipes, Inside <br />and mLLstde, must be Inid tree from traps so that they will drain when the <br />waste Is open. <br />Pipes In the ground must be laid not less than twenty-four inches below <br />the surface. <br />All pipes must be run so as to avoid stoppages. and all traps must be <br />well secured. <br />No bushing must he used to connect with the stop -cock at the sidewalk: <br />nipples or reducing sockets may be used It necessazy. <br />No pipe can ran between the Company's service -cock and main, nod <br />In case a water meter is set, na pipe must be corrected outside the meter. <br />Plumbers may turn on water for the purpose of testing their pipes, but <br />they must leave it shut off at the Company's servil.41-cock, and in no ease <br />turn on the water for consumers. I <br />The water will not be turned on to any premises until the statement <br />herein required has been furnished to the Company and the Inspector shall <br />certify that the work has been done In accordance with its rules and regain. <br />dons. <br />A.
