r
September 5, 1974
Commiseioner Richa.rd Forsgren
Snohomieh County Co*ninissioners Office
County Administration Building
Bverett, Washington 98201
Dear Commissioner Foragren:
I am writing to you regarding the paving behind tho eidewnik within
the City right-of-ivay elong PacIfic Avenue ndjncent to the Courthouae
(Biiesion Building) . The epeclCic locatfon of the work was et the
northwest cornor of Pacific nnd Rockefeller edjacent to the PaciCic Avenue
entrance to the old courthouse. The tvork involved the removtil
of landecaping and the asphAlt paving oi nn area to park ttvo vehicles.
Our City Hngineer has reported to me that thia work was done by e
County rond crew without e required permit from the City of Everett.
Although 1t ia reported that an application for such permit was fillod
out atter the aforementioned work was substnntially completed, no permit
has been faeued to date. In fact, the City Engineer with my concurrence
will deny the iseuanae of ttis permit for the tollowing recsona:
(1) Due to the narrowness of the parking strip
in the area, vehicles would park partinlly on the sidetiveik, nnd
(2) Due to the laek of driveway cut, vehicles would have to jump
the curb and crosa the sidewnik to get to this proposed
driveway area.
In light of these factore, I am requeating that you direct the removl of the
nforementioned lmprovements and restore the City's right-of-way to the
conditton it was in prior to the nbovementionod paving,
If you wtsh to discusa this matter further, teel free to contect me
nt your conv^nience.
Yours vcry truly,
ROBERT C. ANDERSON
lUsyor
